How many scholarships are available this year? 

There are 4 scholarships including:

  • 3 Partially Funded scholarships: UWC Dilijan College (Armenia), UWC Thailand (Thailand), UWC Changshu China (China).
  • 1 Up to Full All-inclusive scholarship: UWC Changshu China (China).
When is the application deadline? 

The deadline is 5th January 2025. Application and Required documents must be submitted by 23:59 on 5th January 2025. 

What is the eligibility requirement for UWC Laos 2024-2026 applicants? 

To be eligible to apply for the UWC 2024 - 2026 scholarships in Lao PDR you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Lao national
  • Born between 1st April 2007-15th August 2010.
  • For students applying for Grade 10: You must currently be enrolled in school and must complete Grade 9 by August 2025 before attending UWC. (You MUST be attending school to apply, regardless of whether you meet the age requirement. Simply meeting the age requirements does not qualify you for the application)
  • For students applying for Grade 11-12: You must currently be enrolled in upper secondary school and must complete Grade 10 by August 2025 before attending UWC. (You MUST be attending upper secondary school to apply, regardless of whether you meet the age requirement. Simply meeting the age requirements does not qualify you for the application)
My birthday is within the requirement, but I am studying in Grade 12. Am I eligible to apply?
 

Yes, you are eligible to apply. All Upper secondary students are eligible to apply.

I'm interested in applying, but how do I apply?  

You can apply by completing the downloaded application form and uploading it to Dropbox, downloading and completing the application form and mailing it to us via delivery/logistic company, OR completing it Online. For more information, please visit Application here.

I've already graduated from High school, can I still apply? 

No, you cannot. The scholarships are only available to students enrolling in Upper secondary school.

I applied last year, can I still apply again this year?
 

Yes, you can as long as you still meet the eligibility requirement. Please check out the eligibility requirement here

How long is the application process?  

The whole application process will take around 3-4 months.

What are the required documents? 

Your final application must include ALL the following documents:

  1. UWC Scholarship Application Form
  2. An Academic Reference
  3. A General Reference:
  4. Official transcript of the national system Grade 04; or international equivalent Grade 9 
  5. Official transcript from grade 10 to the current academic year 2024-2025

Can I submit my application to UWC email or Facebook?
 

No. We DO NOT accept Late applications and applications submitted via email or Facebook

Will my application be considered if I missed ONE of the required documents?
 

No, your application will be automatically disqualified. For more detail about required documents, please visit here.

If I complete the application form in English, do my transcripts and reference forms must be in English? 

No, your application form and other required documents do not have to be in the same language. Your application can be written or completed in Lao, your transcripts or reference forms can be in either English or Lao. 

I will not be able to obtain the official transcript from school by the deadline because my school is still closed. What should I do?
 

You can scan or photocopy your Transcript Record Book of the required Grades and upload it to the dedicated dropbox. 

I am not good at English, can I still apply? 

Although the teaching language at UWC is English, proficiency in English is not required. You can choose to apply in Lao or in English.

Can I ask my close friend to complete the General Reference Form? 

Yes, you can ask your close friend or anyone that you think he/she knows you well to complete the reference form. 

Is the UWC scholarship a Full Scholarship? 

No, the scholarship conditions varied each year, and it also depends on the scholarship nominee's family financial situation. For more information about the scholarships this year, please visit here

After filling out my eligibility profile, I got a 404 error page not found. What does it mean? 

The 404 error page not found means that you are not eligible to apply to the scholarship as your eligible profile does not match our eligibility requirement. For more information on eligibility requirements, please visit here.
